Ragnar Colorado Ultra Team

It has been a while now since I ran Ragnar Colorado...wish I would have blogged right after.
It was an amazing experience!
I ended up running 33 total miles and 7 relay legs through wind, hills, rain, darkness and exhaustion. We started off in Breckenridge and ended in Aspen, Co. It was such a Beautiful Run. It is mostly all along trails and through the mountain of Colorado and along the Colorado river. I had a 2AM run on a trail right next the Colorado river.(terrifying experience). The weather went from Super cold to super warm within hours. All and all, I loved it and can't wait to do it again!

This is our Ultra Team at the start in Breckenridge, Co.

Travis starting us off in Breckenridge.

This is Richard, our team mascot. Ha ha! Most people loved Richard (except the stick in the mud's) :)
Everywhere we went people were screaming Richards name. He is a super Popular guy!

LOL!

These legs definitely got a workout! (notice the goosebumps)

Richard giving random runners high fives!

Richard was super popular with the ladies :)

 Our "van"

Lake Dillon. Beautiful. Wish I got more pictures of all the beautiful trails.

Double medals for running both Wasatch Back and Co Ragnar's in the same year.

I Love Ragnar. We are doing Las Vegas Ragnar in 2 weeks and are already signed up to do another Ultra team at Wasatch back next year.

One week from today

One week from today we will running in the Colorado Ragnar relay with our team "Ultra Stoopidz"! Ultra style! If you don't know, Ragnar is a 12 person overnight relay run that covers about 200 miles. Normal with 2 vans and six people per van. However, we are doing an ultra team which is just one van and 6 runners doing the 200 miles. I am going to be runner 2 and i will runner around 30 miles! Crazy! It should be so much fun and defiantly an experience to remember! More to come...

Top of Utah Half Marathon

Last weekend Travis and I ran the Top of Utah half in Logan, Utah. I really enjoyed this run, except for the fact that we live about an hour away and had to wake up at 3am to arrive on time. The first 7 miles are down the canyon and then it flattens out for the last 6 with a little incline towards the end. Once again the first 10 miles were great and the last 3 were hard. I think I am running too fast in the beginning and losing steam towards the end. Something I defiantly need to work on. I also make a 4 minute bathroom stop! Hopefully one day I will make it through an entire half with no bathroom breaks :) My time was just 1 minute slower than my previous  1:57:40.

I also have come to the conclusion that I am an Ugly runner! LOL! I viewed my photos here and in every single picture my mouth is WIDE OPEN and I look like I am half dead! Ha ha! Not sure if I was really into chewing my gum or what! Surprised I didn't catch any flies....

I found this picture on Facebook. I am the one in the pink in the middle (with my mouth wide open)  :)

And my Instagram race photo

Crandall Canyon Memorial Half Marathon

This was a Beautiful Half Marathon in central Utah. It is a Mammoth Marathons Half and is held in memory of that miners that died in the Crandall Canyon mine collapse in 2007. The canyon was so pretty, even with all the recent fire damage. It is a great downhill run. I ran my personal best time for this half 1:56:20. The first 10 miles were awesome I held my average pace at around 8:30. At mile 10 I took a bathroom break and after that the last 3 miles were so hard and slow. But I met my goal of running a half in under 2 hours and I am So, So HAPPY!!

Travis did awesome in this race at 1:48:00 and got 3rd place for men.

26.2

So I just signed up for my first FULL Marathon!! I am excited but to be honest the thought of 26.2 miles is Super Intimidating! I am running the Huntsville Marathon It is the very first one and my very first full marathon. It should be a good starter marathon because it loses about 4000 feet in elevation and I LOVE downhill. I have actually already signed up for my second full too, the Rock n Roll Marathon in Las Vegas... so hopefully I love this one or at least finish :)

I am currently on week 5 of the Marathon Rookie Training plan. It is a 16 week plan that seem pretty easy to follow. I love this site. It has tons of great information for beginners. My goal for this first is just to finish. But I would love to finish in under 4 hours. We will see how it goes...

Love this!!

Spartan Beast & Kiss Me dirty

Travis ran the Spartan Beast at Midway in Utah on June 30th.
Spartan is a 13 Mile race through mud and obstacles.

On the same day our daughters ran in the Kiss Me Dirty 5k in Ogden, Utah.

Good Job Girls!!

Ragnar Relay - Wasatch Back

Travis and I really wanted to run the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back this year but it was sold out! So we ended up getting on a random team we found on the internet.  If you don't know, Ragnar is a 200 mile relay race that is run by 12 people each running 3 different lags.. The Wasatch Back one is in Utah and it travels from Logan to Park City.

This is part of our team of strangers. Last minute one of our team mates got sick and one of our friends Jodi (in the blue and hat) ended up filling in.

We were in Van 2 so we started in Ogden Valley.

 Random Ragnar guy.

I missed the pic of the dude from the front ;)

The Honey Buckets were everywhere and actually Very clean!

 Headed up old Snowbasin road

Where we attempted to get some sleep, didn't happen!

Although, I would not get on a random team again, overall, Ragnar was a great experience! We are already signed up for an Ultra team (only 6 runners)  in Colorado in September, Las Vegas Ragnar in November and Wasatch Back next year. Can't wait!!
